New Jersey Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee Set To Consider Online Gambling Bill

The previously reported New Jersey Senate Bill that would permit online gambling in the state has been scheduled for discussion tomorrow in the Budget and Appropriations Committee.  Senator Raymond J. Lesniak, the sponsor of S1565, says he is optimistic about the bill’s chances.  He indicates that online gambling could arrive as soon as September.  If that is to happen, there’s a lot of legislative and regulatory work to be done.

Regardless, it seems that the race is on between New Jersey and Nevada.  Where will the first legal, regulated and taxed online gambling wager in the United States take place?
