How many online casinos are in NJ?
There are currently 28 online casinos authorized to operate in the state of New Jersey by the NJ Department of Gaming Enforcement.

The NJ DGE oversees the operation of the casinos to insure that the brands operate in accordance with the strict rules established in the state. Each online casino brand must operate under the license of a land-based casino in Atlantic City.
The market has stabilized a lot in the last couple of years. In 2023, we saw one new launch and one relaunch of an old brand when Caesars became Tropicana. Then in 2024, just a couple of new site launches. But overall, the NJ market is a player's paradise as more than two dozen sites compete for your online casino business.
Betting at these sites is available only to customers who are physically located in New Jersey, whether they be a resident or a visitor. The casinos use a location verification process to establish that a player is located within the borders of NJ before permitting wagering.
